Status objects to the rail line inside PTR

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has objected to the Indian train proposal to put the railroad line 18 km through the Core Area of Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) which states that it will have a negotual impact on the Ecosystem of the Holy and Habitat of the animals.
On February 18 this year, the train has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the environment and wildlife, looking for wildlife permits to put a stretch of third wide gauges in the PTR.
The new line, which is 291 km long, will connect Patratu in the Ramgarh Jharkhand district with Sonnagar station in the Aurangabad district in Bihar.
Of the total length, the 18 km stretch will cross through the PTR core area.
Notified in 1973, PTR is the only Jharkhand’s Tiger Haven.
However, the population of tigers in reserves has been reduced for more than a decade.
The surveyor did not find any tiger presence during the last national tiger census in 2018.
On April 16, Head of the Main Forest Conservator, Wildlife, (PCCF-WL) Rajiv Ranjan had objected to a proposal stating that the extensive measuring line would have a bad effect on The fragile ecological landscape of the PTR and negative impact on the recovery and persistence of various animal species endangered, including tigers.
In his speech, Ranjan also showed that there was a scope for Indian trains to explore the alternative route for his new path which would not fall in the core area.
Furthermore, the Head of Secretary of Sukhdev Singh wrote a letter to the Chairperson of the Railroad Board on April 29 and recommended that the train and the State Forest Department can jointly conduct exercises to explore alternative routes that pass through the PTR core area.
While the government officially made the standing out of the train, all arranged to reject the wildlife petition at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) in the Meeting of the State Wildlife Council, scheduled to take place early next month.
The State Council is led by the chairman of the Minister and consists of forest officials and wildlife experts.
“There are two train lines that pass through the PTR core area.
Then there is a human settlement, the presence of left-wing extremists and security personnel.
All of this greatly affects animal habitat, including tigers.
The railroad line is busy and regularly causes animal accidents.
Fragmented habitat, which in turn blocks animal movements and shrinks the prey base.
The new wall will worsen the scenario, “said Ranjan to Ti.
In addition to tigers, PTR is home to Gaur India, leopards, Cheeephar, Sambhar, wild bears, elephants and other endangered species.
In addition to the railway line, the State Agency also aims to deviate 8 km from the 80-Km (SH-09) soil highway that connects Kutmu-raku and Mahararn in the district of the PTR core area.
From 80 km road, almost 36 km will pass PTR.
