Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has objected to the Indian train proposal to put the railroad line 18 km through the Core Area of ​​Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) which states that it will have a negotual impact on the Ecosystem of the Holy and Habitat of the animals.

The new line, which is 291 km long, will connect Patratu in the Ramgarh Jharkhand district with Sonnagar station in the Aurangabad district in Bihar.
Of the total length, the 18 km stretch will cross through the PTR core area.
Notified in 1973, PTR is the only Jharkhand’s Tiger Haven.
However, the population of tigers in reserves has been reduced for more than a decade.
The surveyor did not find any tiger presence during the last national tiger census in 2018.

In his speech, Ranjan also showed that there was a scope for Indian trains to explore the alternative route for his new path which would not fall in the core area.
Furthermore, the Head of Secretary of Sukhdev Singh wrote a letter to the Chairperson of the Railroad Board on April 29 and recommended that the train and the State Forest Department can jointly conduct exercises to explore alternative routes that pass through the PTR core area.
