Ghaziabad: The district health department has threatened to resist the salaries of doctors and the indictment of public health centers and primary health centers who do not live nearby.
The warning from the Ghaziabad Chief Medical Officer was present after several complaints against doctors to live in other places and cities and not available for patients in health centers.
Officials say doctors are required to live in a rosmital radius of three kilometers where they are posted and inside the hospital if there are accommodation available.
However, this rule is often flying, officials said.
Through his recent order, Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Bhavtosh Shankhdhar asked the doctors to submit written statements stating that their residence was near the hospital.
In terms of non-compliance, CMO has threatened to hold their salary in addition to starting an investigation department.
“There are many doctors in all medical facilities in Ghaziabad who live in Noida, Delhi and Meerut.
The department keeps a watch that is close to the situation.
It is not recommended to leave the workstation this way.
How will they manage patients if an emergency?” CMO said .
Meanwhile, considering Diwali, CMO directs health staff to be available all the time.
He asked the district hospital and all CHC to make arrangements for sufficient staff and drugs to handle unwanted incidents.
“Doctors and paramedic staff will be available 24 hours for emergency medical facilities at the District Hospital considering Diwali.
The instructions have also been given to ensure the smooth operation of ambulance services.
Doctors, including eye specialists, will remain available all the time,” he added.
