JAMSHEDPUR: The steel city can immediately breathe in the air that is cleaner when the Dinesh Transport Officer (DTO) Dinesh Ranjan told the autorickshaw union in Jamshedpur that after six months no diesel tricycle would be allowed to eliminate.
On Tuesday, DTO was clearly described to a representative of the union that they had to take adequate steps to ensure a smooth transition from diesel to CNG fuel.
The meeting was attended by the owner of the fuel outlet too, because they had to make arrangements for CNG, when almost 40,000 autos turned to green fuel.
The owner of the authorickshaw showroom also attended a meeting because it was clarified that after six months there was no new diesel car to be given registration by the transportation office.
Ranjan said that those who intend to buy new auto must start now choosing for CNG-Compliant Autos.
DTO directs the owner of the fuel pump to begin the process to ensure the smooth supply of CNG to Autodrivers here after six months.
Ranjan also instructed owners of fuel pumps on national highways to ensure the CNG supply right there.
He said there was a complaint that CNG’s obedient bus found it difficult to fill their tanks for illness in fuel in many places in this district.
Meanwhile, the order aroused a mixed reaction.
Many automated drivers say that they have suffered due to pandemic and kuncian since last year and the latest orders will only worsen their financial burden.
Mithun Sardar, a car driver, said: “I have lost most of my daily income because schools are closed for more than a year.
I can’t afford to buy a car that suits new CNG.” Raghu Singh, on the other hand, welcomed the decision and said that this would help clean the environment.
He said the switch to CNG should occur far earlier.
He shows that CNG is cheaper than diesel and in the long run will get the benefits of automatic drivers.
