Chennai: The Athipattu Town Panchayat in the Tiruvallur district has bought stainless steel ships for RS 7 lakh for gifts to villagers who take anti-covid vaccination.
Panchayat’s efforts to ensure 100% vaccination is decorated with vaccine doubts among villagers affected by the myths and information wrong about the vaccine.
So officials appear with this incentive.
“My old mother refused to be vaccinated because of fear.
Once she knew about the distribution of the ship she was agreeing.
Health workers also cleaned doubts about vaccines,” Vasu said, a resident of Athipattu.
Tiruvallur District Administration has campaigned to eliminate the wrong information and plan more steps to encourage people to take vaccines.
The District Administration said 1.28 lakh people had been vaccinated on September 12 against the target of one lakh.
And on Sunday, 82,556 people were vaccinated in the district of the target of 75,000.
