Steeplechaser Sable Eyes Excellence at the Tokyo Olympics

Pune: There has never been a scarcity of obstacles – literally and metaphorically – in the life of Avinash Sable.
Really walked 12 km a day from home to school and returned, to clean more than 200 obstacles on track every day, Steeplechaser never had everything on a plate.
Cleaning down obstacles now has become a way of life for Beed athletes, which have cut more than 12 seconds in the 31000m obstacles over the past two years.
Now, Sable doesn’t just want to be the first Steeplechaser Indian man to participate in the Olympics since Gulzara Singh Mann in the match 1952.
He wants to make a sign.
“Participating and inspiring the next generation is good, but I don’t want to go back as ‘also run’ from Tokyo.
I work hard to achieve my goal and I’m sure to make my presence feel in the match,” army soldiers, who are part of the Army Institute of Sports , Pune, to Toi.
His coach Amrish Kumar said the delay of the match had given them enough time to work on deficiencies.
“I can’t tell you how big he recorded the current time, but believe me, it was far less than what he was running in the last competition,” said the coach.
The last competition Sable was the Federation Cup in Patiala, where he fixed a national record once more, clocking 8.20.20s.
The bronze medal in Rio Games went to Frenchman Mahiedine Mekhissi with 8: 11.52.
Kumar understood his task uphill, but it was not impossible.
“He must reduce seven to eight seconds at least to argue, but I can make sure he is on the right track,” the coach said.
Since recording a 37-year record of Gopal Saini of 8: 30.88 with the recording of 8: 29.80s in 2018, Sable has improved its own record five times.
Although the better record is not on the sable and kumar agenda, of course it helps them in setting a higher bar.

“We don’t want to sit up with an old show.
Jo Ho style, which is Bhool Jao (forget what happened).
What we remember is a new time, which is then set as a base.
We work on finishing in a new basis,” Kumar said.
A steeplechaser must run 7.5 rounds of 400m with 7 water leaps and 28 jumping up and down during the race.
“He jumped more than 200 obstacles every day during his training.
This makes the leap smoother and also make his muscles stronger and get used to the leap.
We are working on durability and speed at the same time,” added the coach.
This is not just a predictable aspect that is carried out by Sable, he also considered a normal accident in his events.
In the world championship in Doha, where Sable has won a ticket to Tokyo, Steeplechaser finished 7th in the heat where he was twice being blocked by Ethiopian runners Takele Nigati.
But after protest, he was allowed to run in the final, where he ran 8: 21.37, to qualify for Tokyo.
“When you have a barrier while running, it kills your momentum, so we have created a barrier during the training.
He has 5-6 training partners, who fall accidentally in front of him and his job is to avoid obstacles and focus on his goal,” added the coach.
” Even though we cannot predict what will happen in Tokyo, because every race is different., Such training can help him prepare for an unexpected.
