Hyderabad: The latest figures released by the Pollution Control Agency (PCB) in HussainSagar show a profitable trend in controlled values of all water indicators.
From them, the most significant value of the dissolved oxygen level (DO) was observed about 4 mg / liter.
In accordance with the Central Pollution Control Agency (CPCB), it has been stabilized at the minimum level of 4 mg / liter – the level needed for water life to survive.
Doing a level in HussainSagar has been stabilized by a process known as a bioremediation.
Doing a level can be reduced when the water body is polluted by contaminants.
Dissolved oxygen is very important for the survival of water life.
While doing the 4mg / liter level is the minimum to maintain aquatic life, levels 7 to 8 mg / liter are considered as very good oxygen saturation levels for waters.
It can be noted that even at 4 mg / liter, oxygen saturation will be above 70 percent.
In bioremediation, microbes like bacteria are used to purify water.
This process promotes the growth of bacteria that consume pollutants which in turn reduces foul odor and increases levels in the upper layer of water.
On various collection sites in HussainSagar, read the discovered at least 4 mg / liter, indicating the level of oxygen saturation of around 70 percent.
The process of bioremediation was first introduced on the lake a few months ago when it was found that the level had dropped below the 4 mg / liter threshold to maintain aquatic life.
“This is a follow-up process that has been used in developed countries.
Recently introduced in India with countries such as Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh already used this method,” said the Lake pollution control committee member to Ti.
It must be mentioned that a very high or very low level can endanger water life and affect water quality too.
“Only after the scientific process is the number of microbes that will be introduced to the bioremediation process that is decided,” said a source involved closely with the process.
