WASHINGTON: Flanked by the bodyguards dressed in black and made unpleasant comments about President Biden, former Advisor President Trump Steve Bannon surrendered to the FBI on Monday with criminal charges arising from the insolidation of the Congress investigation to January 6.
“We noted the Biden regime,” Bannon said to a crowd of journalists when he arrived at the FBI field office in the US capital.
A federal jury on Friday charged Bannon in a count of congressional insults for refusing to accommodate depositions before the US House of Representatives chose a committee investigating the events about the January 6 attacks and second insults to refuse to produce documents.
Bannon, the first person to face criminal charges in the Congress investigation, is expected to make his initial appearance in the court later on Monday.
Congress insults can be sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of $ 1,000.
