Ludhiana: The STF-Ludhiana unit caught a man with a 1.1kg heroin and Rs 54,000 medicine on Friday.
The defendant, identified as Naseem Saffi, 37, from Mohalla Harjap Nagar of Jamalpur, was arrested when he traveled in his car from Jalandhar’s side to Ludhiana.
The Harbans Singh Inspector, who was responsible for STF Ludhiana, said the defendant drove a Hyundai Eon car with heroin.
STF has set a Chartpost in Ladhowal Chowk.
STF stopped the car at checkpost and checked, a handbag containing heroin and cash was found under the driver’s seat.
Inspector said the defendant admitted that he had bought a contraband goods from one Shiata area close to the Amritsar border.
The official said Naseem had six cases of drug accesses registered in them at various police stations.
