Bhubaneswar: The Crime Special Task Force (STF) has attached mobile assets and does not move more than RS 1.5 Crore owned by Taklu King, the famous brown sugar dealer in the state.
This may be the biggest attachment of the properties that are owned by drug dealers in the state.
Previously, STF had a frozen bank account involving several lakh rupees from several drug sellers.
According to this procedure, STF will immediately move competent authority (eastern region) under narcotics and psychotropic substances (NDPS) acting in Kolkata for asset foreclosures.
The source said the king, who came from Balalasore, was arrested several times by the police and STF on charges of smuggling brown sugar in the past.
STF said the king mopped a very small asset from the brown sugar business.
“We knew that he used to make a living with Hawking in Ballasore a few years ago.
Now, we know he has a large immovable nature in Odisha and outside.
We have so far traced their assets to an area of ​​around Rs 1.5 Crore,” said A Senior STF officer.
In the relevant development, Komisionce police arrested Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, History-Sheeter for allegedly peddling brown sugar among young people, especially students in Bhimatangi here on Friday.
Police said Sahoo was previously booked in 17 criminal cases, including efforts to kill and attack.
