STF takes illegal liquor worth RS 1CR

Jhansi: In Joint Operation, STF (Lucknow) and Jhansi Police confiscated 2,481 Foreign Foreign Liquor Cartons (IMFL) worth RS One Crore from a warehouse on Saturday.
Five people, accused of operating liquor racquets between countries, have been arrested.
SP (City) Vivek Tripathi said that the joint team that had worked for the past few days to dig a liquor racket finally raided a warehouse on the Kanpur-Gwalior bypass on Saturdays where liquor was used.
Apart from this, the police also confiscated a truck used to transport stock, two motorbikes, 7 cellphones, Rs 6,850 cash, two ATM cards and two forged number plates.
The defendant has been identified as Paramjeet Singh, Harp Singh, both from Haryana and Kripa Shankar Nishad, Manoj Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav from Pratapgarh.
Liquor, after being bought directly from refining in Haryana, sold in America such as Pradesh Arunachal which has a lower tax rate.
