Madhyamgram: Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday asked Kolkata police and police Bidhannagar to stop fighting on the jurisdiction and seeing that people do not suffer.
He said this in Madhyamgram while talking about a series of accidents in Chingrighata crossing on Em Bypass.
“I have several accidents that should not happen.
Kolkata police continued to say that the chingrighata intersection did not fall under his jurisdiction.
Police Bidhannagar also said the same thing.
The point is that people suffer.
We will prepare the footbridge there but the problem must be sorted.
I Has said this since the Gyanwant (Gyanwant Singh IPS) was the police commissioner, “CM said at an administrative meeting at Madhyamgram.
Banerjee also asked whether IPS officers, before handing over their successors, conveying “notes” to them so that new officers can understand the problem and administrative plans in the area.
Immediately after the CM meeting, Acting DGP Manoj Malviya visited Chingrighata Crossing along with the Police Commissioner Bidhannagar Supratim Sarkar and Police Police CP (Traffic) Santosh Pandey.
“It was decided that the spread of the police would increase.
While Kolkata police will increase the number of police from 12 to 15 during rush hour, Bidhannagar police will also double the number of police in the Nicco Park stretch,” said the source.
All stretches between Metropolitan and Hyatt have witnessed seven fatal accidents so far since 2019.
Stretch Bidhannagar (until Nicco Park) has witnessed three deaths in the same period.
CM also touched waterlogging problems in several bags of rajarjhat, salt lake and dum dum.
CM suggested local MLAS and Mayor Bidhannagar Krishna Chakraborty to take problems with the Indian Airport Authority (AAI).
“The water from the airport runway flows into the canal during heavy rain.
You have to take problems with AAA and come up with the design to sort out the problem,” he said.
CM asks PWD (road) to take steps immediately and clean the land thrown away on the side of the road that stranges the flow of water in several barracks.
Trinamool Barrackpore Mla Raj Chakraborty said in the meeting that the problem was acute in Ghoshpara, Lalkuthi followed the Kalyani Expressway work extension.
“Pwd to Helle Dule Chole, or the Dol Dol Naam Holo department,” CM said.
