Stop MiseAding Advertising, GSK & NAAPTOL Tells

New Delhi: Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has passed two orders against online shopping entities and companies that sell popular toothpaste brands and direct them to stop “misleading ads”.
In addition, he has imposed a 10-lakh Hospital penalty on the online shopping platform for misleading advertisements.
CCPA sent an order after starting the action of Suo Motu against two companies, GlaxoSmithKline Asia for Sensodyne advertisements in India, which showed foreign dentists supporting them, and online shopping Naaptol for three ads – “Magnetic Set”, “Knee Support” & “Sandal Yoga acupressure “.
The sequence was passed after hearing the argument from the two companies.
The authority recorded support from Sensodyne Rapid Relief & Sensodyne fresh gel products supported by dentists practicing in England.
CCPA observes that regulations that regulate dentists in India product ratification or any medication publicly and by showing dentists training outside India for ratification of its products in company advertising trying to “avoid applicable law”.
CCPA has also directed the Director General (Investigation) to investigate claims made for these products and the company has been asked to submit documents to support claims within 15 days.
