Stop the demolition of the temple, will study orders SC: BOMMAI

Bengaluru / MySuru: Chairman of the Karnataka Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday directed the district administration to stop the planned demolition of encouragement against temples in the state until the government emerged with direction after studying the command of the Supreme Court in this matter.
After Drive Demolition last week in Nanjuud, MySuru District, which aroused a sharp reaction from the party and the public, Bommai said the government had asked all representatives of the commissioner not to make a decision to “rush and hurry” about the demolition of the temple built on public land.
“We will study the command of the Supreme Court in detail and issue specific directions in this matter,” he added.
The first direction of the Supreme Court came on September 29, 2009, which asked the state government to destroy illegal religious places built on public land.

“We will take a clear attitude at the meeting,” he said, added that he would give a detailed reply to the problem in the ongoing legislative session.
Previously on that day, Revenue Minister R Ashoka hinted that the government would immediately stand out about this issue, while repeating that the court order must be obeyed and the demolition operation must be carried out without hurting people’s feelings.
CM says the notification of the show has been issued for the Nanjang government about demolition and adding its response to expected within two days.
Deputy MySuru Commissioner Bagadi Gautham confirmed that the government had searched for a report on the demolition of Mahadevamma Temple in Uchchagani Village in Nanji Taluk.
In MySuru, the controversial drive has been stopped with the state government that is looking for reports on campaigns and MySore City Corporation decided to reassess the list of 93 temples marked for demolition.
A corporate senior officer said they would find out how the structure could be saved from demolition.
