Pune: Shops in Pune City can remain open until 8pm from August 9 and restaurants with a capacity of 50 percent until 10pm, Deputy Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar said on Sunday.
The mall was also allowed to function at Pune and neighboring Pimpri Chinchwad Township until 8 nights but only citizens who had received a dose of Covid-19 vaccine would be allowed to enter, he said.
Restaurant owners, traders and associations of the mall workers have demanded that their company timings be extended and have also protested.
Recently, the Maharashtra government allows shops to function up to 8pm in 25 districts not including pune and ten other districts where Level-3 restrictions continue to apply.
“Considering a constant level of capititivity of 3.3 percent in Pune and 3.5 percent in Pimpri Chinchwad, we relaxed several norms for business.
Start Monday, all shops are allowed to open until 8pm.
However, shop owners and staff must be used Masks and get themselves fully vaccinated.
The restaurant is also permitted to operate with a capacity of 50 percent until 10pm.
Pune rural areas will continue to be under current 3 level restrictions because of the high level of participants, “said Pawar told reporters after attending.

He said the mall was allowed to remain open at Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad but only citizens who had received both vaccine doses would be allowed to enter.

Deputy CM also appealed to traders to keep all commercial and market companies close within the limits of Pune and the Kitil Pimpri Chinchwad region once a week on their choice of days.
Public parks will be allowed to keep open in the morning and night as before before the pandemic.
Sports activities are also allowed at Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad except for swimming.
The temple will continue to remain closed, said pawar, adding that people must strictly follow the Norma Covid-19.
As many as 65, 25, 580 residents have been inoculated against Covid-19 so far in Pune District, according to the district administration.
