Storey English shines, notes fall on day 1 of Tokyo Paralympics

Tokyo: British bicycle riders Sarah Storey adds to the glorious gold history when the Australian Wheelchair Powerhouses suffered a surprising defeat on the first day of Paralympics Tokyo 2020 which was delayed on Wednesday.
Paige Greco, a Australian cyclist, was honored to win the first gold of the match, 354 days slower than being considered because of the pandemic Covid-19 and the day after the opening ceremony of high-energy but painful.
Despite delays throughout the year, and with Koronavirus fear depending on the event, the world and Paralympic records fell in the pool and on the cycling lane on the first day of pulsating competition which saw 24 gold medals.
Greco was in the form of recording recording when he defeated Wang Xiaomei China in a gold medal race in a pursuit of a 3,000 meter C1-C3 individual in Izu Velodrome.
He destroyed his own record of almost eight seconds in the heat and lowered it with two and a half to 3 minutes 50.815sec in the final.
“I still don’t believe.
I keep looking down and seeing (gold medal).
It hasn’t really drowned,” said Greco.
Storey moved a step closer to becoming the largest paralympity in England, destroying his own world record in the heat before the ruling in the final of the individual pursuit of 3,000 meters for the 15th paralympic gold.
The 43-year-old took the title for the fourth consecutive match when he caught Campang Crystal Lane-Wright in eight rounds 12.
Storey was only one medal behind the British record held by Mike Kenny, who won 16 gold swimming from 1976 for 1988.
“I never expected to leave as fast as this morning, but I was very happy to do it,” Storey said.
Brazilian Daniel Dias, who competed in his last paralympics, had the opportunity to become a male paralympic swimmer who was mostly decorated throughout the time if he won three more gold for Eclipse Kenny.
But it could only take bronze at the opening ceremony, the 200m men’s freestyle, which was won by Francesco Bocciardo Italia in a new Paralympic record time.
DIAS, which has now won 25 paralympic medals, will have several opportunities to add 14 gold to Thursday in a free style of 100m.
Defending the Australian gold medal experienced a setback in their efforts to become the first team to keep the wheelchair rugby podium in three consecutive matches, up to Denmark 54-53.
“I was quite destroyed, to be honest I never lost the game in Paralympics,” said Bond’s Chris Bond.
“I don’t know what to feel.
All we can do is turn around and win the next two and make the semi-finals.” The game was declared open on Tuesday night by Emperor Naruhto Japan, with the head of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons paid tribute to the athletes who managed to Tokyo.
“Many who hesitate today will happen, many think they are impossible, but thanks to the efforts of many people, the most transformative sporting event on earth will begin,” he said.
The opening ceremony themed around the story of a winged aircraft carrying into the sky, and displaying a musical order and acrobatic octane high in departure from the more Olympic opening ceremony.
Knot lost is the Afghan team, which has been trapped in the country after the Taliban takeover.
The IPC confirmed on Wednesday that the team, which consisted of two athletes, had left Afghanistan, but refused to say where they went.
The opening ceremony took place in front of the stadium which was largely empty with almost all viewers forbidden from the venue because of the coronavirus rules.
The organizer on Wednesday reported 16 new Covid-19 cases related to Paralympics, including two athletes in the Paralympic Village, whose identity had not been revealed.
New cases bring the number of infections related to Paralympics up to 176, most of them are Japanese-based staff or contractors.
Japan has recorded around 15,500 deaths from viruses with 40 percent of a fully vaccinated population.
Olympic organizers and Paralympic have insisted on no evidence of infections that spread from game participants to the Japanese public.
Tokyo and 13 regions have been under the condition of the emergency virus and the Japanese government on Wednesday decided to extend it to eight more regions.
This step is equipped with a summer school vacation that ends and top infection experts who suggest delaying the beginning of the class to reduce the risk of transmission.
