Chennai: Minister of Tamil Minister Nadu M Stalin announced that a statue was late at night cm of struggle, which was destroyed in 1987, will be established in Anna Salai in Chennai.
The statue was installed by Maniyamai in 1975 to fulfill the draven draves of Dravidar Kazhagam E V Ramasamy (aka) perilyar at the intersection of General Patters Road and Anna Salai.
It was launched by Kundakiman Adigter.
The statue was destroyed during the violence that ruptured followed the deaths then CM M G Ramachandran.
“President Dravidar Kazhagam K Veeramani met me a few days ago and urged me to reinstall the Kalaignar statue of the Kalaiignar in Anna Salai.
When I explained him the court order regarding the installation of statues in public places, he (Veeramani) told me that The statue was installed after obtaining a government permit, “Stalin said in the assembly while replying to Thiru VI Train MLA V Neelakandan (DMK) during the debate about demand for grants for various departments.
DMK MLA, while participating in the debate, appeal to CM to reinstall the previous CM statue at Anna Salai.
“We will discuss with legal experts and try to install the previous CM statue in Anna Salai, without disturbing the public and traffic,” CM said.
There is a statue of Periyar and the former CMS C N Annadurai and M G Ramachandran on Anna Silai.
