Thane: A total of 34 residents including children were bitten by wild dogs injured in the Nagar Thane Gray area since Monday morning, city officials were informed.
Santosh Kadam, heads in the regional disaster management cell in Thane Corporation said the canines had raged since Monday morning and were trapped late at the Indira Nagar area.
Eyewitnesses, Raju Shirodkar, said the dog had made panic among the population since morning and crashed them through.
“Initially, residents tried to drive away the dog but he began to attack them after we notified the company.
The dog has attacked several children too,” he said.
Shiv Sena local corporator Dilip Bartakke said the dog might be injured and depressed and so attacked by residents.
The rope was still difficult to understand since morning and finally stuck at night, he said.
Officials said they had not confirmed whether the dog was crazy.
Meanwhile, dog bites were sent to various nursing homes where they received care.
