Trichy: Trichy Corporation has identified two ways to ‘goals for challenges’ organized by the Union Minister of Housing and urban affairs.
Trichy has been chosen as one of 113 cities for the Pan-India challenge to create pedestrian-friendly streets.
Road Lawsons in Cantonment and Bypass Karur have been selected for that purpose.
People are encouraged to share their proposals to develop the benchmark model in ensuring the same rights for pedestrians and cyclists to imitate the same thing on other streets in the city.
“We will call for innovative ideas from various experts and stakeholders who are looking for a low-cost and comprehensive solution to make the city be passed and to increase public spaces,” said Sivasubramanian corporate commissioner.
Winning ideas will get three cash prizes for each of the two roads identified.
RS 1 Lakh will be offered as the first prize, Rs 75,000 for the second prize and 50,000 Rs for the third prize.
Interested professionals and students are asked to check www.smartnet.nuai.org to participate in challenges.
