MySuru: The most awaited road project in the Old Mysuru area – 10 lanes highways between MySuru and Bengaluru – are likely to be completed in June 2022.
The works on this road began in May and December 2019 under two separate packages.
The 118km project is run with an estimated cost of 7,400 crore.
“The completion of the work depends on the pandemic because new restrictions can place the brakes on its progress,” explained an officer monitoring the project, which was first proposed in 2014.
After the road work was finished, the travel time between Mysuru and Bengaluru expected to drop to 90 minutes, from now on 180 minutes.
It will also provide Fillip to tourism and industry activities in the region.
The work between Bengaluru and Nidaghatta began in May 2019, while work between Nidagatta and Mysuru began in December of the same year.
The road will have six paths controlled access and two paths as road service on both sides.
While replying to the questions raised by the Bengaluru MP Center MPK Mohan at Lok Sabha, Minister of Union Transportation and Highway, Nitin Gadkari, said that 80.49% physical progress was achieved in stretching Bengaluru-Nidagatta.
On May 2022, all works will be completed.
Between Nidagatta and MySuru, 73.70% progress F has been achieved, and work is expected to be completed on June 2022.
“This project is expected to ease the burden in Bengalaru City,” said Mohan.
“Every day, thousands of people traveling between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
After this stretch is ready, many people will definitely move to level 2 cities, reduce pressure on Bengaluru.
