Strict action on pet owners to leave dog droppings on the streets

Mysuru: Even when the High Court has indicated taking awareness of Suo Motu about problems related to the threat of dogs in the park if the departmentalities concerned failed to take action, Mysore City Corporation continues to indicate ignoring the problem.
In fact, the Department of Livestock Corporation Corporation is guarded by health workers instead of officers with expertise in animal science.
After MCC Animal Assistant Director S Suresh was transferred as Deputy Director of the Chamarajanagar Livestock Department in 2020, an veterinarian officer was appointed to the post.
But from the past six months, the Department of Animal Husbandry is combined with the Ministry of Health and health workers are given additional responsibility to maintain the activities of the animal department.
Speaking to Toi, Mayor Sunana Palanetra said that the situation in the corporation was in a sad state because regular health officers guard the veterinary department.
“There are three health officers in the MCC who are given the responsibility to maintain the activities of the veterinary department such as monitoring anti-birth, sterilization and anti-rabies programs, handling livestock threats along with cleanliness and cleanliness which includes cleanliness and health programs.
I have written a letter to The Commissioner pointed to the veterinary officer to the department to manage the departmental activity, but there was no action initiated, “he said.
“The problem in the city is that most dog owners who go for morning walks bring their pets with them.
They let their dog defecate in front of the house and it has become a disturbance in the city.
The owner of the house must clean dog poop in front Their home.
There are no problems with pet threats in the park.
We do not have a scarcity of money in the corporation to appoint officers based on a contract.
I have also brought a problem with the district minister’s notification, “he said.
MCC’s senior health worker Dr.
Dg Nagaraj told TII that they would obey the direction of the court.
“We will travel through environmental officers to create awareness among people regarding problems in the park.
We will also create awareness through social media,” he said.
Dr.
Nagaraj said pet dogs were not allowed in open parks such as Lingambudhi Lake, Lake Kukarahalli or Rajkumar Park.
“In Lingambudhi Lake, a bulletin board has been established to warn the public to suspend their pet dog while walking in the morning.
We have received two to three complaints from the Association of Resident’s Welfare in the past we need immediately.
But the problem is pedestrian, which carries a dog Their pets take a walk, let them defecate on the roadside.
After traveling consciousness, we will take action against pet owners who fail to follow the rules, “he said.
According to the Canine Club of Mysore (CCM), which is under the Aegis Kennel Club of India (KCI), there are around 7,000 pet dogs from various breeds in the city.
