Strictly following the Covid-19 norm: mamata to pilgrimage gangasagar

Kolkata: West Bengal Bengal Head Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday urged pilgrims to visit Mela Gangasagar to strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines and asked his government not to send too many people to Sagar Island for the exhibition.
He asked the pilgrims not to take the vehicle to reach Sagar Island in 24 South Pargana, using a double mask and cooperate with administration, and asked for police assistance if needed.
“I asked for an administration not to send too many people to Mela Gangasagar.
I urged pilgrims not to take the vehicle to reach Sagar Island,” he said as he inaugurated the fair in the Outram Ghat.
“I welcome pilgrims who come to West Bengal from other countries and ask them to wear double masks and strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines,” he added.
The Calcutta High Court Division, which consisted of chairman of the Prakash Shrivastava and Juda Judge Doma Bhutia allowed the annual exhibition to take place from 8 and 16 January, and ordered that the entire Island of SAGAR was declared a notified area.
The bench is also a committee of two members consisting of former Samapti Chatterjee justice and members of the West Bengal Legal Services Authority to recommend the state government to prohibit the entry of pilgrims to this island if there is a violation of safety norms.
The bench was ordered so that all pilgrims must be fully vaccinated and had to test the negative for Covid-19 in the RT-PC test conducted within 72 hours before reaching the venue.
Gangasagar Mela, who is one of the largest religious trials in East India, attracted several lakh people who took Sacred Saudak at Ganga and Bay of Bengal Meeting and prayed at the Muni Capil Temple at Sankranti Makar.
