Thiruvananthapuram: Postgraduate medical residents at the college medical hospital will carry out unlimited strikes from August 9.
The strike has been referred to as the government is not ready for discussion to consider their requests even though the token strike weeks.
“We were forced to carry out unlimited strikes and we would withdraw from services that were not important at first, followed by Covid and ICU tasks.

All senior post-graduate and supspecialty citizens will participate in the strike.
Chapter of the Indian Medical Association and the Kerala Medical College of Medical Teachers Association have confirmed their support for Medicos.
“For the past half a year we have been at the front line of war against a pandemic, but until now there has been no support or appreciation from higher authorities.

Their demands included decentralization of covid patients’ burdens to peripheral non-teaching institutions and they alleged that the government destroyed the largest medical training facility from the country by burdening the Covid case.

The hospital will face acute hands because the doctors are busy preparing for the NEET postgraduate and non-academic batches currently resolving their posts.
Increasing the number of non-academic senior resident posts has become unavoidable.
The Ministry of Finance has approved 76 Senior Resident Post, but the notice has not been issued.
Other demands include incentives and risk benefits for doctors who work all the time without rest, decongestrion from additional ICU beds that they cannot support because of lack of inhumane resources, etc.
Strike is not limited by PG Medicos from August 9
