Thiruvananthapuram: Postgraduate medical residents at the college medical hospital will carry out unlimited strikes from August 9.
The strike has been referred to as the government is not ready for discussion to consider their requests even though the token strike weeks.
“We were forced to carry out unlimited strikes and we would withdraw from services that were not important at first, followed by Covid and ICU tasks.
We will not retreat until our problems are considered and our basic rights ensure,” said Dr.
R naveen , State Secretary of the Medical Postgraduate Association of Kerala.
All senior post-graduate and supspecialty citizens will participate in the strike.
Chapter of the Indian Medical Association and the Kerala Medical College of Medical Teachers Association have confirmed their support for Medicos.
“For the past half a year we have been at the front line of war against a pandemic, but until now there has been no support or appreciation from higher authorities.
We have raised our basic problems to the authorities who care for the past six months, but The response was disappointing, “said Dr.
Athul Ashok, president of the State Association.
Their demands included decentralization of covid patients’ burdens to peripheral non-teaching institutions and they alleged that the government destroyed the largest medical training facility from the country by burdening the Covid case.
