Ahmedabad: Heavy rain pains Valsad and other regions in South Gujarat on Tuesday, causing inundation in many lowland areas, officials said.
In addition, two people died after being beaten by lightning in the Mehsana district on Monday night, they said.
The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has estimated “active wet spells” for the next few days.
From 6am to the day on Tuesday, heavy shower attacked several parts of the Valsad Regency, with Umaram Taluka received heavy rain 225 mm and steam downpour – 109 mm, in accordance with the Country Emergency Operation Center (SEOC).
Also, Kaprada and Pardi Talaskas in Valsad each receive rainfall of 54 and 29 mm, while cherham in Navsari countries adjacent to get 26 mm rain during the same period, Seoc said.
Water logging in many low regions of Valsad throws the normal life of equipment and affects commuter movements.

Lightning strikes killed a woman and a teenage boy in Ganpatpura Village in Mehsana on Monday night, said an official at the Visnagar Taluka police station.
