UDHAGAMANDALAM: Carcass of a Man striped hyena was Located at the Masinagudi Selection of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) buffer zone at the Nilgiris on Sunday.

Forest division’s field team had discovered the carcass across Achakarai Road during regular patrolling.
“It had been discovered on a tree trunk.
Injuries were located on the surface of the creature,” explained MTR buffer station deputy manager L C S Srikanth.
Forest vet conducted postmortem.
Preliminary postmortem report showed that the creature had suffered significant internal bleeding.
“We assume that the creature may have been struck by a car.
A wildlife instance was registered in this relationship,” said Srikanth.
“The Masinagudi forest range officer was instructed to create a group to conduct an evaluation to locate the car.” Tissue samples were collected for laboratory evaluations and the carcass was buried in the forest region.
