Naalehu: Two strong earthquakes hit the Big Island beach in Hawaii on Sunday, accompanying residents and causing items to fall from the shelf.
The US geological survey said the first earthquake had a magnitude of 6.1 and crashed around 17 miles south of Naalehu.
The agency said the 6.2 earthquake struck about 20 minutes later in the same area.
National weather service in Honolulu said there was no tsunami threat.
At the gas station at Naalehu, the refrigerator door was opened by a shock and items fell to the ground.
