Strong Typhoon Investigates the Philippines, towards Taiwan

BANGKOK: Strong Typhoon around most of the Philippines on Friday but seems to get strength and head directly to Taiwan this weekend, words of fortune tellers.
Typhoon Chanthu still has the potential about the current course to reach the extreme northeastern part of Cagayan Province in the Philippines with a continuous wind of 195 kilometers per hour (121 miles per hour) and gusts up to 240 KPJ (149 mph) before moving forward towards Taiwan, The state meteorological agency said.
When Chanthu moved to the west-northwest through the Philippines, the current estimate was that it was likely to hit Taiwan’s east coast on Sunday morning, with the potential about head-on islands if it was heavily more west, or skipped it fully when turning east.
Taiwan’s midface bureau has issued a typhoon warning when tracking a storm.
Bureau said high waves are expected along the south coast of Taiwan and in the Bashi channel between the southern end and the northernmost island in the Philippines.
The administration of the Philippine atmospheric service, geophysics and astronomy said Chanthu is expected to intensify up to 205 km / h (127 mph) for the next 12 hours, before a slightly weakening in front reaches Taiwan.
“Further weakening will begin on Sunday when Typhoon starts interacting with Taiwan’s rough terrain but will remain in the category of typhoons throughout the estimated period,” said the agency.
“Considering this development, the reduction of public risk and disaster and the management office in question is suggested to take all the necessary steps to protect life and property.” In the current course, typhoons are not expected to hit mainland China but have potential until Monday if they move west of the expected right now.
Typhoon is called a storm in the North Atlantic, the Pacific North Central and Pacific North East, but is the same weather phenomenon.
Smaller Typhoons slammed into the East Philippines on Tuesday, causing a power outage in several provinces before weakening into a severe tropical storm when moving west-northwest over the Sibuyan Sea.
About 20 typhoons and storm of the Philippine mixture every year, apart from seasonal seasonal rain.
This country also lies in what is called the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” an area that is vulnerable to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, making it one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world.
