Students dedicate simulation software to respect the teacher

Thiruvananthapuram: What else can be a better way to express your gratitude to a great teacher than sharing knowledge with the younger generation and guiding them to increase new academic height? Krishna Mohan, an assistant professor in Chemistry has done this by dedicating five years of hard work to the beautiful memories of the deceased Professor Hisham Abdul Khader who highlighted the passion of hundreds of chemical students studying at the University College in the late 1990s.
Copy Copy Software Simulation for Science Studies developed by Krishna Mohan will be released by the Gurukkal Daran academics on Teacher’s Day in September 5.
Open source modeling software made by Krishna Mohan, who conducted his doctoral research at Pohang University.
Science & technology in South Korea, can be used substantially for students and researchers in the field of chemistry, nano technology, material science and molecular physics.
Software for predictions of molecular properties is the first of its types developed in the state.
It was developed with the support of the Indo-Korean Science and Technology Center, Bangalore.
An article about Application Software has been published in the latest edition of the Wiley Journal of Computational Chemistry.
“Software-DJMOL – It is expected to fill long-term emptiness in the study of material science in academic institutions in the state.
It is designed in such a way that it will be beneficial for undergraduate students to post-doctoral researchers.
The core code is written in Java and Python, using a series of libraries Open Source and use the possibility of Google Cloud and Git.
Because this application software will still copy to the left, anyone can develop it further according to their needs and vision, “Krishna Mohan said.
He used the open-source library, including those at Notre Dame University at US Universities and Barcelona in Spain along with the DJMOL application.
“The key to the study of material science is available in the left form of a copy.
But they are spread throughout.
By forming this software, we have tried to combine this scattered knowledge into the format ready to use,” he said.
He said he received assistance from student developers Rahul Sunil from Mar Baselios Engineering College and Dr.
Kapil Gupta and Dr.
Seung- Cheol Lee from the Indo-Korean Science and Technology Center, Bangalore.
