Jaipur: Human Rights Commission Rajasthan (SHRC) on Thursday took Suo Motu’s awareness of the death of a student in Churu after being defended by his teacher and issued a notice to the authorities.
Chairman of the Justice Commission Gopal Krishna Vyas issued a notice to the Churu collector, police supervisor and basic education director in Bikaner, looking for a reply at five points a week.
Vyas has requested the details of the actions taken against the accused of teachers and school owners, and whether the recognition of private schools has been canceled permanently or not, according to the SHRC statement.
He also looked for the number of teachers at school and their qualifications and whether there were complaints made for district or police administration against teachers accused of their students or parents, and, if yes, what actions were taken.
Thirteen-year-old Ganesh, who was studying in the 7th grade of a private school, was beaten to death by his teacher on Wednesday just because he had not finished his homework.
The teacher accused of Manoj has been arrested.
