Students of Art & Science Colleges Failure to warm up to Professional English

Written by news2in

Coimbatore: Professional English is integrated into the undergraduate student curriculum in the Arts and Science College last year to increase English language skills and teachers.
But one year down, he has failed to reach students.
Without physical classes and reluctance on the teacher’s section to take additional subjects into obstacles that prevent the subject from reaching students effectively.
The new course was a project initiated by former Higher Education Secretary S APOOREVA.
Professional English books are taught to students from the four streams – physics, life science, art and social science, and trade and management.
Tamil Nadu State Council for higher education (Tansche) prepares a new syllabus and appears with learning material after several rounds of consultation with experts.
New subjects are being taught as an additional one hour a day as additional paper in par with the main paper.
The subject settlement is mandatory for students to continue higher studies.
But there is not much support for programs from faculty members.
“The new subject has come as an additional workload in the midst of existing jobs,” said Assistant Professor of Government Artwork here.
“What is the logic behind making computer science teachers like I teach English?” The aim of making a subject teacher to teach professional English is to make them improve their English proficiency, said a member of the Senior Faculty of Bharathiar University, which is part of the application of subjects in college here.
“Some teachers were given training to handle the subject.
But we received a bad response from students, who showed that it had not reached them properly.
The teachers must be prepared to walk extra to take the subject to students,” he added.
