Students, parents are not happy for the test time

Mangaluru: Time inspection of PU has made students and parents worry, especially from rural areas.
According to the Ministry of Education Pre-University (DPUE) circular, the Terminal Exam I PU Student will start at 2:30 p.m.
and end at 5:45 pm.
Examination will be held from March 28 to April 13.
The results will be announced on April 30.
“We can come to write checks to the centers, however, it will be difficult to return home, because the examination ends at 6pm.
Since the Pandemic Covid-19, all bus services have become a framework.
There are only a few buses available to go home.
This is our request to the DPUE, to change timings in accordance with our convenience, “said a student from the rural area of Belthangady Taluk, who was studying in a private college.
Parents too raised worries why the timing was repaired, when the department realized the situation.
According to the source of the DPUE, the examination timing was determined since the SSLC board exam also began on the same day.
“This will be a problem on the Composite College campus, which has SSLC and PU colleges.
Because resources are limited, they cannot hold a joint test.
Therefore, the PU exam is being held in the afternoon,” said the source.
PU examination can be held only after 14:30, because the SSLC inspection process ends at 2pm, the source is added.
However, lecturers and officials of the Department of Public Works in Dakshina Kannada said that the DPUE had provided responsibility to each district, to conduct an examination.
“It also has to give us the freedom to change the examination timing, because the timing is currently not feasible for the majority of students and also teachers,” said a senior PU department official.
A PU Principal suggests that the SSLC examination must be held on alternative days.
“My PU Exisinations can be shifted into the morning, in the days when there is no SSLC examination.
We must be given the flexibility to conduct an examination with the maximum student present in the morning, and the subject with minimum students can see in the afternoon.
CD Jayannna, Dakshina Kannada DDPU, said that she was aware of the discomfort caused by the timing of the examination.
“We will take a problem with the latest high-ranking officials,” he said.
