Kolkata: If all candidates plus-II score 90% and above prohibit those who choose a professional course – Looking for a ticket to undergraduate programs in City Colleges and universities, not all can be accommodated, feel the representative of Chancellor and Principal.
Many school principals estimate that there may be enough seats in leading universities and two top universities only on one third of candidates in this sign bracket.
WBChSE, CISCE and CBSE canceled their council test this year and adopted various formulas to calculate the final score of class XII.
In HS, 100% of candidates have passed, while CISCE and CBSE fail only are the number of students who can be ignored.
Close to 9,100 HS students have scored 90% upwards, while the principal estimates that at least 6,750 from the ISC and 5,000 of the CBSE is likely to get a similar score.
Although ISC and CBSE have not announced the farewell results, this estimate is based on feedback from affiliated schools, many of which say almost 50% of their students print 90% upwards.
More than 10 lakh students from three boards have passed the XII class in Bengal this year but the number of UG seats in the city is less than 2.5 lakh.
To enter this in context, the intake capacity of the University of Presidency 700, University of Jadavpur 981, Lady Brabourne College 619, Bethune College 540, Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration 549 and Ramakrishna Misison Vidyamandira 202.
In fact, demand is not possible for all subjects, With very few predicted takers for subjects, such as philosophy, Sanskrit and education.
“Of the 20,000 strange students printing 90% upwards, a quarter will choose medical, engineering, law or other courses.
Even then, there will be no seats in universities and leading universities for 15,000 remaining candidates,” Pro-Vice said – Chancellor of Unitary University.
Some colleges, such as the Scottish Church, Lady Brabourne, Loreto, St Xavier’s, and the University of Presidency and Jadavpur received thousands of applications from northeast students as well.
“A large number of students from the Northeast receive tickets to our college every year,” said Scottish Church College Vice-Principal Supratim Das.
Although some new universities and colleges have been opened in this district, high scoring students usually choose the Institute in Kolkata, increasing pressure here.
However, in 2019 and 2020, several seats in the department sought at several colleges here remained empty for a long time, but it was for other reasons.
Last year, the reason was that high goalscorers had blocked chairs for very long without receiving the entrance ticket.
“Also, university of unity, such as presidencies and JU, publishes their results slower than other universities and some migratory students.
But at this time, it is too late for universities to recognize students again because most of the syllabus is over,” said Lady Brabourne College Principal Siuli Sarkar.
