New Delhi: Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) convinced the Supreme Court on Thursday that candidates who picked out of CA examination carried out in July 202 for difficulties related to Covid-19 would not lose the opportunity and that would occur What’s right to hold a backup test within two weeks.

“In July itself, we have said candidates who chose to be in accordance with court leave, will undergo backup checks in November 2021 along with the main cycle.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan, appears for applicants, handed over that per Order June 30 through the Supreme Court, ICAI must hold a reserve exam for CA candidates who chose to leave the July cycle exam because Covid-19-related difficulties.

“Those (ICAI) must be directed to hold a reserve check instead of saying that you appear in the regular exam cycle,” he said and added that from next year the syllabus would be new.
However, Srinivasan, assured that there would be no loss of opportunity for people who chose out.
The APEX court in the order of 30 June said a candidate has the right to use the option to choose out of the exam if he or family members have suffered from Covid-19 in the past and these facts are certified by registered.

ICAI proposed that the decision to hold a backup check with a regular cycle was taken because last year holding a separate exam has created logistical problems, said Srinivasan.
The bench said it did not interfere with the examination cycle for now and ICAI can make the right decision about the representation that will be submitted by applicants.
