Coimbatore: The city traffic police are ready to bind every day to students to regulate traffic at various intersections with the help of Uyir.CLAD NGOs in reflecting jackets, students will also hold placards to make awareness and request helmet drivers and safety belts.
S RajaKaran , Managing the NGO Trustees, said they had previously founded the Uyir Club to make students actively participate in the road safety awareness campaign.
At present, he said, students from 24 colleges have been registered with the club.
“We have more than 1,200 students trained to help the traffic police in regulating traffic at a large crossroads.
We have also created a team of 25 students to take the road safety awareness campaign in the city,” he said.
Jasaeckah said part of students from three universities actively participated in managing traffic and monitoring violations without parking on the road crossing, City Hall and Jalan Oppanakkara, for several names.
While connecting traffic snarl during the peak hours for ongoing flyover construction work at Trichy Road and Evated Corridor at Avinashi Road, Sr.
Senthilkumar, Deputy Deputy Police Commissioner (traffic), said it was not easy to set the police themselves to arrange Cross on Avinashi Road.
“We plan to tie students from the Uyir club next week and spread them at various intersections on Jalan Avinashi and other stretches during rush hour at night,” he said.
