Nagpur: Two colleges from Maharashtra have received permission from Aicte to start a Bachelor Engineering degree program at Marathi.
They are between 14 institutions throughout the country which are applied to launch courses in vernacular languages after the peak body for technical education inviting applications as part of the new education policy (NEP).

Aye aims to reach all candidates, especially from rural and tribal areas, which find it difficult to learn in English.
He plans to offer BE and BTECH courses in Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada and Malayalam, besides Marathi.
The College of Engineering in Pune (CoEP), and the Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCE) received approval from Aicte to start a technical course at Marathi.
CoEP, one of the oldest and autonomous institutions, will start BTECH in the field of electrical and civil engineering, while PCCE will offer degrees in computer engineering.
“Aicte will provide all reading material in Marathi to college.
We will translate material through our specially made software, which can translate all technical syllabus into 22 regional languages in a fast time.
Students must also go through the course offered by the Portal Swayam and Open Online (MOOC) portal, “said the Chief of AICTE approval Prof.
Rajendra Kakde told toi.
Will not be accepted in the size of a batch of 30 or 60, which can be increased from the next academic year, depending on the response.

Of the 14 universities to get permission, three came from Uttar Pradesh, two of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan, and each of Madhya Pradesh, West West, and Andhra Pradesh.
It from above, Rajasthan, MP and Uttarakhand will offer degrees in Hindi, while other countries will offer them in their regional language; Marathi, Telugu, Bengali and Tamil.
The majority of them will offer courses in computer science, followed by electricity, electronics, civil, mechanics and other branches.
“College of Vidarbha can take advantage of this golden opportunity from Aicte, as many parts as possible, such as Gadchiroli and Melghat, are still backing.
Students from these areas will benefit.
