Navi Mumbai: Nerul Swimmer Shubham Vanmali (26), which is the Shivchhatrapati award, created a type of record by completing a solo swim for a distance of 140km sea route from the Gateway of India to Peghar Beach in Dahanu.
He needed five days to achieve that achievement.
During his efforts, he swam to accumulate 28 hours and 40 minutes and assisted by the guardship while keeping himself floating the remaining time.
Vanmali claims to be the first Indian to do it.
Overcoming rough high sea challenges and despite having a painful rash throughout his body and fever because it was stung by jelly fish, no one could stop his spirit.
“Nobody tried this before.
It has given me a boost to pursue more like that challenges,” Vanmali said happily.
The next effort is to swim alone along the 413km sea route from Goa to Mumbai around 2022.
“I was moved by a cheering crowd gathered on the finishing line.
Reception Rousing as it was truly unexpected,” Vanmali said.
His achievements have been certified by the Maharashtra pool association and technically he guided by the Thane District swimming association.
“It’s amazing to see one of the protruding sea swimmers that stand out in the metropolitan area reaching such a milestone,” said Santosh Patil, Vice President of the Maharashtra Swimming Association.
