Pune: Mundhwa police on Wednesday arrested Sub Inspector Milan Karkute on charges of extorting money from three restaurants when uniformed.
According to a statement, Karkute was on leave starting from 21 to 24 August when he went to a restaurant, struggling with the manager and demanding money.
When Maruti Gore restaurant manager checked with Mundhwa police if Karkute was posted there, it was found that he was posted with Pimpri Chinchwad police.
“Gore told the police that Karkute also demanded money from two restaurants again in Kalyaninagar.
We will verify this information,” said Pune DCP (Zone V) Namrata Patil.
