‘The story of Ram Lakhan is eternal’
I am happy that Ram Lakhan celebrates 33 years of his release.
It celebrates Yobel Gold and is one of the highest from that time.
I am happy that people have watched them many times on a small screen too.
In my opinion Ram Lakhan is a lasting story.
It will always be fresh.
It has the power of a mother played by Rakhi, a brother like RAM and a corrupt man like Lakhan.
People like this character will always be in the community for years to come.
A strong and noble mother will never fail.
There are good people in this country and there are also bad people.
There are strong and honest people in the system even today.
And there are also people who push things in the wrong direction.
And when these two types of people are sons for a mother, who wants them to become a great citizen in this country, it is an eternal equation.
‘Remake will do it well today’
This will be relevant today and even for the coming years.
Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty should make remakes but they take their own time.
But I am sure every time the film will be remade it will be a blockbuster because it has a combination of drama, story, scenario, and good characterization.

Actually, I began to make Ram Lakhan in a hurry.
I have a Deva shelf.
And after that I have to start this film a month.
I have an idea for Ram Lakhan but I have no story.
So, I have to write stories and scenarios and start shooting in one month.
I have worked with Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in Meri Jung and Hero.
I told them that I wanted to start the film next month and they agreed.
I have signed Madhuri for three films.
First is Uttar Dakshin and the second is Ram Lakhan.
So, Madhuri was there.
He was an artiste Mukta so I pushed it.
But the problem arises when three regular distributors I left me because the latest films Anil and Jackie had fallen.
So, Mumbai, overseas, Delhi, Up and West Bengal, this distributor comes out of the film.
I have to sell a movie after making it.
But I am determined to make this film.
I have to improvise during the shooting.
Today, everyone wants a bound script.
I made Ram Lakhan without the right script and it became a blockbuster like that.
If you look at my script before starting the film and the copy is sent to the sensor board, they are two different things.
So, there is a long process of written words from the script to the film’s final making.
As in 36 farm houses it starts with the idea and here are two wealthy brothers who killed each other because they won the farmhouse.
Ram Lakhan is a lasting story like Ramayana and Mahabharata.
‘Lakhan is an entertainer, but RAM symbolizes a strong man’
I have heard rumors that actors currently prefer to play Lakhan for RAM.
I don’t understand how they think.
RAM is the same character.
Lakhan is an entertainer, alright.
But Jackie Shroff gets a big respect for playing RAM.
Every mother wants children like RAM.
RAM symbolizes strong and kind men.
And it will always remain like that.
Today’s actors wonder why I have to share the screen space.
