Gurgaon: A squall hit the city again on Saturday afternoon with light rain but winds strong enough to uproot dozens of trees at several places, including Hamilton Court, Galleria Market, Udyog Vihar and Atlas Chowk, among others.
The maximum temperature on Saturday touched 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees.
It was cooler than Friday when the maximum temperature was at 39.6 degrees Celsius and minimum at 27 degrees Celsius.
According to the met office, a fresh western disturbance is active in the northern region and a cyclonic circulation lies over lower northwest Rajasthan and Haryana, interacting with moisture laden easterlies winds and causing pre-monsoon showers.
“Under the influence of these systems, we are witnessing light to moderate intensity of rain in the region during this time around.
Strong winds with a speed of 25-35 kmph are likely to prevail over the next three days.
There is possibility of very light rain or drizzle on Monday as well,” an IMD official said.
