Lucknow: Cane Cultivation at Uttar Pradesh Touches new height with the average sugar cane production reaches 815 quintals per hectare at 2020-21.
In the last fiscal, the average sugar cane production is to reach 811 quintals per hectare.
The Shamli district in the West Up Region has topped the graph by producing more than 1,004 quintals per hectare of sugar cane followed by Muzaffarnagar which recorded 923.20 quintals per hectare.
In fact, of the top 10 districts, nine came from the West who was rich in agriculture.
The country has 45 stick-producing zones.
Additional Chief Secretary (Stick Development) Sanjay Bhoosreddy said that higher sugar cane production was the result of intense plant cutting practices used in the 2020-21 sugar cane cultivation season.
He stated that it was due to timely payments from the price of sugar cane and associated farmers with new planting techniques that have caused an increase in sugar cane production.
High sugar cane production coincidence directly with the payment of sugar cane prices scheduled by the factory, basically in the private sector, to farmers.
In fact, farmer group, is in the arm claiming that around Rs 12,000 crore payment cane caused by the 2020-21 season.
However, the officials of the stick department, however, stated that the department is committed to getting the payment of sugar cane prices in a timely manner.
The state government has highlighted how to pay more than 1.4 lakh crore to sugar cane farmers in the past four years.
