Mumbai: More than a dozen police personnel landed at a Mumbai man’s house on Thursday after receiving a call from him that he would end his life because of a dispute with his fiance, just to be told that he had changed in the resolution afterwards.
From the line between the couple, an official said.
The man, Dinesh Gupta, a resident of Kandivali Suburbs, called the police control room around 11am, said he would end his life within 30 minutes due to a dispute with his fiance and that nothing went well between them, the official.
said.
After his call, around 15 police station personnel Charkop and Kandivalali immediately swung in action and began to find his residence.
While one police officer contacted him by telephone, others tried to reach Gupta’s residence as soon as possible, he said.
Inspector from the Kandivali Police Station, Vijay Kandargaonkar, said, “First I advised him and in a few minutes our official reached his residence.
When he reached the house, he told police officials, he had resolved his dispute with his fiancee and now he won’t try to commit suicide .
“After talking with more than two dozen police officers, Gupta told them that he would go to the workplace and that they do not have to worry about him, he said.
Then, the police made a station diary entry and took the detail of the incident, the official added.
