Sumit Malik Wrestler handed over a ban on two years; Have a week to appeal

New Delhi: His hopes of competing at the Olympics ended, Sumit Malik’s Indian wrestlers on Friday were banned for two years with the raw regulators of the Sports World UWW after the sample binya also returned positive for the banned stimulants.
The 28-year-old has one week to decide whether he will receive sanctions or challenge him.
Malik was given a temporary suspension last month due to a failed drug test during the World Olympic qualification event at Sofia, where he had qualified for Tokyo games in the 125kg category.
The sample ‘B’was opened on June 30 and is expected to also provide the same results.
However, certain substances found in the Sample Malik, Gold Medal Malik 2018 had told PTI that he only brought painkillers to manage the right knee niggle.
“Sample B Sumit Malik has provided the same results and UWW has forbidden it for two years from June 3.
He has a week to respond.
He can call hearing or receive sanctions,” a source at the Indian Wrestling Federation (WFI) told PTI.
The source close to Malik-based Rohtak said they would immediately make a decision.
“We are discussing this problem with our lawyers,” said people who interact with Malik about this problem.
The general opinion in WFI is that Malik must challenge sanctions because it is not a steroid but stimulants taken accidentally.
Malik had breastfeeded a knee injury he suffered during the National Camp before the Olympic qualification began in a different place.
He has competed in Asian qualifications in Almaty in April but did not succeed in getting a quota.
He then competed in the Asian championship in the same place and reduced medals.
However, in the world of Olympic qualifications in Sofia held in May, Malik got a quota to reach the final, which he removed because of the same injury when the trial occurred and a verdict came out, he would miss competing at the Olympics.
