Kankingi is worrying in the case of Covid-19 in Gujarat – the country recorded 4,213 new cases on Thursday, the highest in the last 230 days – has forced the state government to postpone the vibrant global Gujarat summit scheduled to be held from January 10 to January 12 in Gandhinagar.
CM Bhupendra Patel said the decision was taken in a larger public interest.
On Thursday, active cases jumped to 14,346, the highest since June 8 last year.
This announcement also leads to delays many other events scheduled to overtake the lively Gujarat summit.
The government also canceled the upcoming flower performances in Ahmedabad and Kite Festival, which will be celebrated throughout the front of Uttarayan on January 14.
