New Delhi: Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Satya Nadella and Alphabet Head Alphabet Pichai will be provided with the prestigious Bhushan Award Padma.
The government on Tuesday announced a complete list of recipients of awards that will be given to the Padma Awards.
Nadella was named Microsoft CEO in 2014.
Previously, he held various leadership roles in company and consumer companies throughout the company.
He came from Hyderabad and currently lives in Washington.
He got a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
He also held an MBA from Chicago University.
While Pichai was born in Chennai in 1972.
He got a degree from IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical techniques.
He moved to the US to study the master in the material science and engineering from Stanford University and then proceeded to pursue MBA from Wharton Business School.
Pichai worked with McKinsey before joining Google in 2004.
He became Google CEO in 2015.
Chairman of the Serum Cyrus Poonawala Institute was also awarded Padma Bhushan.
SII has played an important role in Indian fight against Covid-19.
This is a local manufacturer of vaccine covishield.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tata N Chandrase Group will also be awarded Padma Bhushan.
Chandrasekkan started his career with the Consultancy Services (TCS), which he participated in from the University.
At TCS, it rides the ranks to become the CEO.
After that, he was appointed as chairman of the Group of $ 100 billion-plus.
Furthermore, Chairman of Bharat Biotech Krishna Ella and Co-Founder Suchitra Ella will also be given with Padma Bhushan.
Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech is a manufacturer of covaxin, original vaccine against Covid-19.
Padma Awards is one of the highest civilian awards in the country.
They were awarded 3 categories, namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
They are given in various fields of activities including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, civil service.
It was invited by the President of India in the ceremonial function held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March / April every year.
