Bhubaneswar: The Medical College and Hospital in Sundargarh will function from the academic year 2022-23 with the state government start the process needed for this purpose, said Minister of Health Naba Kisore Das.
Making a statement in the Assembly, DAS said the state government had taken steps to start receiving MBBS for 100 seats and 500 bed hospitals.
Medical colleges have been established together by the State Government and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
While the state government has allocated 21 hectares of land at no cost, NTPC has spent more than RS 350 Crore for infrastructure.
The state government has also provided 271 post sanctions, including 160 teaching posts, 85 non-teaching posts and 26 other posts.
As a request for the second AIIM establishment in Sundargarh grew, the Minister of Health said there was no communication made by the center in this matter even when the state government had convinced cooperation.
