Kolhapur: Estimated rainfall throughout the week by the Meteorology Department of India (IMD) for Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg Regency is likely to reduce the festive spirit.
The Met Department has issued a yellow warning for the West Maharashtra district for a week – until Saturday.
As appropriate, storms with lightning and strong winds are likely to be accepted in remote places in the districts mentioned above.
Previously, Yellow Alert was issued for Monday and therefore the area received rainfall at night with the parts of the city of Kolhapur who faced electricity cutting.
On Tuesday also some parts of the district receive rain.
Despite the rain and cloudy weather, the weather in Kolhapur remained moist signaling a shower to be accepted late at night.
On Monday, roadside vendors and people who came to shop face a difficult time because of a sudden bath.
Anil Mane, a roadside vendor that sells Rangoli, said, “All my products on display and rain suddenly cause panic because we are not ready for rain.
Most of our rangoli wet in the rain when we can cover them.” He added, ” Taking lessons from him, today (Tuesday) I save a plastic sheet with me to cover the Rangolis when needed.
We pray that there will be no rainfall until the end of Diwali because it is a period of the peak business for us.
