New Delhi: One of the main suppliers of weapons for NCR gang was captured by Delhi police specifically on Sundays.
The suspect has been identified as Mohammed Ishab (39), a resident of Melat in the Bharatpur area in Rajasthan.
DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha said the 15 semi-automatic pistol 0.32 bore and 30 cartridges live recovered from the suspect.
“The defendant deducted the arm and ammunition from Madhya Pradesh and was supplied to Delhi-NCR, Haryana and West Up,” DCP added.
As part of enhanced crackdown in Gunrunners, the suspect has been booked under Section 25 (8) of the Amendment Area Law, 2019, where there is a 10-year minimum sentence provision, which can be extended to a life sentence.
The arrest was carried out by the southern range of Speical cells led by ACP Attar Singh and Inspector Ishwar Singh who had placed a trap near Modi Mill Flyover in Mathura Road after receiving tips on the Ishab movement.
