Support for Hijab: Forum launched a drive signature

Mangaluru: An organization, a campaign against hatred speech (CAH), has condemned the discrimination faced by Muslim women students who wear headscarves in all universities in Karnataka.
Cahs has initiated a signature campaign around public statements, condemning discrimination against Muslim students wearing headscarves in these places, especially in Udupi.
Nearly 1,000 residents have signed this statement, showing deep concerns and distress of the rejection of Muslim daughters for education, and the right to practice their religion, they stated.
They demanded that the Karnataka Minority Commission take every awareness of this incident.
and take adequate steps to ask about discriminatory practices from Karnataka PU College.
The Commission also must ensure institutional protection is given to Muslim minority students vis-à-vis practice and their religious language, they urge.
The signatories also demanded that this department recognize the ‘unconstitutional’ incident and ensure Muslim women students are allowed into class while wearing a headscarf, with direct effects.
They also looked for disciplinary actions against the authority of educational institutions in Chikkamagluru, Uduppi and Mangaluru, because they refused to allow students to wear headscarves in the classroom.
Cahs also look for improvement classes for Muslim female students affected and the support of institutional mental health to affected students, CAHS demands the statement.
