Supreme Hope Covid Case Increase After Diwali

Mumbai: With all the main Covid-19 workshops revoked in the state, the Minister of Health Rajesh Tope said that the state expects a surge in case after Diwali.
“We are afraid of surges or surges will be seen after Diwali.
We have opened most of the facilities in the past two months and there is a strong possibility that a surge will follow,” Tope said.
He added that preparation was in full swing to meet the third wave or wave.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi said there was a possibility of post-diwali “blip”, but it could not be the third wave.
“Two weeks after Diwali, we might see an increase in cases because all hanging out which will take place during the festival,” he said.
Covid cases in the state have declined since August, an average of 5,123 cases reported every day in August which fell to 3,534 in September, further down to 2,450 in October so far.
Cases in Maharashtra have declined, but gradual easing of restrictions and socializing in the festival season – Ganeshotsav to Diwali – can produce a higher transmission.
Dr.
Joshi said the country must now be prepared for occasional “mini peak” over the next few months if there are no new variants interested in the next few months.
“Area with high-test positivity – Sindhudurg, Pune, Thane and Ahmednagar – has a positive results of high test and must be watched carefully for the emergence of a new variant,” he said.
The need for hours is to concentrate first at zero covid death.
“We then have to map the area with low vaccination coverage and vaccinate there.” People must use the mask until April 2022 at least, he added.
A senior official said that even though the central advisor had estimated the third wave which would see higher cases than the second, with increased vaccine coverage in the state, possibly if there was a surge, the severity might not be like that in it the second wave.
“Every time there is a celebration season, it raises our worries and we start monitoring even a little increase in case carefully,” the official said.
